Our Faculty and Staff
Since 2006, The Rev CB Baker has offered dynamic leadership to both St Luke's Episcopal Church and School.
Every week, in Chapel, he and Mother Sara tell stories to the students to show God's love through the Bible and in the world around them.
Mr Gandolph comes to us with 29 years education experience; the last 13 years as a Principal. He received his BSE in Education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and his MSE in Educational Leadership from Henderson State University. He and his wife, Marianne, also and educator, live in Hot Springs. They have two grown sons, Donnie and Dallas, and two grandsons, Isaac and Dylan.

Tanya worked for Hot Springs School District as a Child Nutrition Manager
for 24 years. She recently went back to school at National Park Coolege
for her CDA- Child Development Associate. She and her husband,
Todd, have been married for 27 years and they have three daughters-
Patricia, Laura, and Lindsey. When she is not working, she enjoys
spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Gandolph has over 25 years of experience in the education field. She
has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree
in Elementary Administration. She has also been a Literacy Coordinator
and a Dyslexia Screener-Interventionist.
1st and 2nd Grade
Phyllis is our 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She has many years of successful teaching experience in Elementary Education. She holds a BA degree in speech from Southern Arkansas University, 42 credit hours of Education from Louisiana State University and 23 years of teaching experience teaching Kindergarten through 3rd grade in California, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Twelve of those years have been with St. Luke’s.
Phyllis is married and is the proud mother of three grown sons. Phyllis proudly tells us that her hobbies are her sons and “my Little People– the ones who have grown up, the ones that are growing up, and those in the process of just starting out.” Phyllis receives letters every year from former students telling how she positively influenced their lives.
Director of Computer Lab and PE
Marian was educated in Southern California. She holds a B.A. in Community Services, California State University at Chico, Child Development Program Certificate from Los Angeles Valley College, Teaching Credential from California State University at Northridge and National Park Community College Computer Science Program. Marian holds a multi-subject Teaching Credential from California and an Arkansas Teaching Certificate K-6th Grade.
Marian has taught Kindergarten, 6th Grade and Physical Education. At St. Luke’s, she has taught Physical Education and computer classes.
Mrs. Maffit also promotes ways that students and parents can help raise funds for the school through various programs including: Box Tops For Education, Campbell’s Labels for Education and Ink Cartridge recycling.
Sheryl studied art at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in ceramics studio art. While creating wonderful works of art with the little artists at St. Luke’s, Sheryl also practices as a freelance fine artist and renders portraits of people, animals, and landscapes. She lives in Hot Springs, Arkansas with her husband, David Hurtado and daughter, Maya Hurtado.
Lisa Carson was born and raised in Hot Springs. She is a proud daughter of a 20-year veteran firefighter. Lisa and her husband, Stephen, have been married for 32 years. They have two sons, Brandon and Nicholas, and a daughter, Alexis. In her spare time she enjoys camping with her family.
Mrs Rogers has one daughter and lives in Hot Springs, For 26 years, she worked for St Michael's Catholic Day Care. In addition to her duties at St Luke's, she works for ServiceMaster, cleaning at the Garland County Library and other buildings around town.

Director of Music, St Luke's Church and School
Lynn Payette has introduced children of all ages to musical expression and participation for over 10 years. She graduated with academic and performing honors with a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Music from Illinois State University. Since moving to Hot Springs, Lynn has been the Director of Music/Organist at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, where she directs vocal and instrumental groups of all ages and abilities. Under her direction, the adult Parish Choir has toured England twice and sung at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC in 2003 as part of their Arkansas Day celebration.
Since arriving in Hot Springs, Lynn has been an active participant in the
Hot Springs Music Festival as a performer and now as the Chorus Director. She has also been asked by the Festival to recruit a community children’s choir to sing with the orchestra on their presentation of Mahler’s 3rd Symphony. Lynn also serves on the adjunct faculty of National Park College in addition to teaching music to the Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd Grade students at St Luke's School and leading the music in their weekly Chapel services.
