Instructor: Lynn Payette
Lynn Payette has introduced children of all ages to musical expression and participation for over 10 years. She graduated with academic and performing honors with a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Music from Illinois State University. Since moving to Hot Springs 10 years ago, Lynn has been the Director of Music/Organist at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, where she directs vocal and instrumental groups of all ages and abilities. Under her direction, the adult Parish Choir has toured England twice and sung at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC in 2003 as part of their
Arkansas Day celebration.
Since arriving in Hot Springs, Lynn has been an active participant in the Hot Springs Music Festival as a performer and choral accompanist. She has also been asked by the Festival to recruit a community children’s choir to sing with the orchestra on their presentation of Mahler’s 3rd Symphony. Lynn also serves on the adjunct faculties of National Park Community College and the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science, and the Arts, in addition to teaching music to the Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd Grade students and leading the music in their weekly Chapel services.
Lynn and her husband Jay, also a professional musician, share their home with too many talking birds.
